2010
From a hot and sunny Philippines, we would like to wish all of the readers of our newsletter a prosperous, successful and healthy 2010.

Magic Island turns 5!
On 2 January 2010, Magic Island celebrated its 5th anniversary. Together with everyone staying at our resort, other guests, and of course our reliable staff, we celebrated this occasion with a smashing party. We look back on five successful years with satisfaction.

Stargazer
The stargazer is such a unique animal. Since it hides entirely in the sand, this fish is also very difficult to find.Although its eyes are the only thing visible between the grains of sand, our Divemasters are able to find it every time. This fish’s scientific name, Astroscopus guttatus means “he who looks at the stars”. This special creature can also give an electrical shock, so be careful!

Talent
Jurriaan, a special bubblemaker. Not only a dive in the swimming pool during the day, but also a night dive in the pool, followed by a daytime dive in the coral garden, and finally, a real night dive on the resort’s own reef...quite an extraordinary experience if you’re only 8. Under the direct supervision of the instructor, Jurriaan did exactly what he was told. A heartfelt congratulations, Jurriaan!

Boot Dusseldorf 2010

From 23 to 31 January, we will once again be present at Europe’s largest water sports exhibition. You can find us in Hall 3, Stand D74 (‘TaucherTraum’).
What happened last month at Magic Island?
With all the holidays, a lot of course! Not only did we celebrate Christmas and New Year’s, but also Remco and Miranda’s 12 1/2 wedding anniversary. Thea and Jeroen were also celebrating 30 years together, Ronald and Georgina spent their honeymoon at our resort, and Math celebrated his birthday.
