Picture of the month
12 Months ago we started putting the funniest, nicest or most unusual pictures on our website. The webpage is very popular
and were happy about that. The 12th picture is from Michael Wood, one of our American guests, so the page gets also more international.

Local sardine run
More than one year our Pescador Island is crowded with sardines. Big dark schools of fish are all around the island and attract
larger predators like tuna, barracuda and sharks. When you look close you see schools of younglings swimming amidst the older
ones. Fantastic, overwhelming, unique.

PADI AWARE Conservation award 2010
We already knew it a few months ago, but last week it finally was the presentation of the awards. Jimmy Christrip, regional
manager PADI Asia Pacific came personally to us to present it and our complete dive crew was also there. You want to know
why Magic Island won the award, look here.

Political divers
Many high political leaders of the Philippines are divers and that gives them an extra awareness of what the underwater world
of the Philippines has to offer. Also our governor Mrs Gwen Garcia is an active diver and she is convinced about the unique
marine potential of Moalboal. In April she visited Moalboal two times to start up the process to make our waters a marine
park. To support it, she has already donated a patrol boat. We keep you informed!
What happened this month at Magic Island?
It was a busy month with a lot of courses, Ramon did his Jr. Advanced Open Water, Mike got his Advanced Open Water and together
with his parents he also did the Nitrox course. Ramon and his mother Jacqueline made their 100th dive and Lida made her 1000th
dive. She also celebrated her birthday, Roy and Saskia are on their honeymoon. In other words: there was plenty to celebrate!
