On February 11 Roel, Angela, Ramon, Job, Ute and Ernst were the lucky ones and saw the whale shark. While still on the boat they saw a lot of birds flying over the water and it was very clear that there was a big school of small fish just below the surface. Normally a school of small fish is hunted by tuna, but this time our boatmen saw a big mouth under the school of fish. Everyone went into the water very fast and took great pictures of this unique moment. The day seemed to be a real lucky day, during the afternoon dive, again they encountered the whale shark.

For a long time already we have pigmee seahorses at our house reef at a sea fan at 27 meter deep. One male is clearly pregnant. We have seen our family grow untill 8 seahorses so far, but we keep looking for more!

Magic Island is always busy to make the resort more appealing, greater looking and our lates work is a complete new BBQ. Of course we had to test it extensive which resulted into a great evening with great food.

Very often we take our guests for a great trip to the Kawasan waterfalls. This month our guests wanted to do something much more adventures. With 7 guests we went to Tyson Falls. After a firm walk of one and a half hour into the mountains, they reached a 25 meter high waterfall. The ropes were connected, the climbing harnesses fastened and they could start the first of several descents. Very impressive. Come and try it for yourself!

This year Desiree went again to one of the biggest dive exhibitions of Europe. Again it was a very succesful and pleasant show with a lot of Magic Island guests coming to say hello and also many future Magic Island guests.

Arie kept the resort going while Desiree was enjoying coffee in Germany. We had many international guests this month among from Germany, Finland, France, Australia, Spain and more. Rob turned 50, Bob learned to speak Chinese from our Australian guest Richard and Chino got the recipe of a great coffee liqour shake.
